Geothermal – The Introduction

The story so far….

Let me ‘plain.  No, there is too much.  Let me sum up.  Our HVAC system has been less than steller since we moved into this house three years ago.  It has always been hot/cold in the master bedroom during whichever season it shouldn’t be hot/cold.  And our floor above the crawlspace is always freezing during the winter.  Combine that with the knowledge that our HVAC is over 15 years old and we knew it was time to start looking for options.

A house down the street is in the process of reconstruction.  It actually looks very nice but the part that interested us was the geothermal heating/cooling signs in the front yard.  So about a month ago we called the company and began the process of getting a new HVAC system.  Tomorrow we have a phone call with the energy auditor who was here a couple weeks ago.  I’ll update on that part of the story tomorrow evening (or maybe the next day).

I’ll also try to make this a running series as certain aspects of the process play out.

looking forward to this. Our system is 22 years old and we know it is being held together with duct tape and chewing gum. Would love to learn more to see if this is an option when we replace ours. Can’t wait to hear all about it!
